Who We Are

The Lipton Group is a third generation family-owned real estate company based in St. Louis, Missouri. Since 1957, The Lipton family has owned, managed and developed a wide range of commercial real estate to include apartment communities, retail centers, office buildings, condominiums and storage facilities. Lipton's continued and steady growth over six decades is a testament to its conservative investment philosophy, attention to detail, knowledge and understanding of market conditions and flexibility to react quickly to market changes.

The Lipton Group believes in St. Louis and in enhancing the lives of the residents that call this great city home. Since its inception, Lipton has provided housing to over half a million families. Richard Alport

Chief Financial Officer


Richard joined The Lipton Group in 2000 as Chief Financial Officer, managing the financial strategy and operations of a vast portfolio of both residential and commercial real estate.  Richard holds a Bachelor's of Business Administration from The University of Michigan.  After earning his CPA and working in Public Accounting, he has spent the past 25 plus years in the real estate industry.  Prior to joining The Lipton Group, Richard worked as a financial analyst for a large west coast home builder before returning to St. Louis as the Controller for a commercial contractor where he focused much of his attention on subsidized housing development under several HUD and Low Income Housing Tax Credit Programs. 

Sara Daut

Vice President


Sara is the leader of our property management team. She has more than 25 years' experience in property and asset management organizations in roles such as Vice President of Multi-Family Assets, and Director of Asset Management. Her oversight has included development, construction monitoring, lease up and stabilized portfolios from 1,400 to over 17,000 units. 
Sara earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management and Organizational Behavior from the University of Missouri – St. Louis.  She holds the Certified Property Manager (CPM®), Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor (CAPS) and Certified Credit Compliance Professional (C4P) certifications.

Mandi Randell

Assistant Vice President


Mandi has nearly 20 years of experience in the multi-family housing industry.  She has worked in a variety of submarkets in Missouri and Illinois, including St. Louis, Columbia, Kansas City, and St. Clair County.  Mandi has worked on newly constructed properties, mature assets, complete renovations, and repositioned apartment communities - both market rate and tax credit.
Mandi earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis where she was active in many on-campus clubs and organizations.  Mandi earned her Certified Apartment Property Supervisor designation in 2015 from the St. Louis Apartment Association.

Cindy Fitzpatrick



Cindy joined the Lipton Group team in 2014, bringing over 15 years of experience in property management with market rate and tax credit communities, policies and procedures, and auditing.  Cindy has successfully leased up new construction communities, as well as achieved financial success with mature properties. Cindy holds the Accredited Residential Manager (ARM) designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management, the C3P Tax Credit Certification, and obtained her Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor (CAPS) designation in 2018.

Helena Reed

Marketing Director


Helena has been in the multi-family housing industry for 8 years,

all with The Lipton Group. Helena has held many positions across the sub-markets of the Greater St. Louis Area, including assistant manager and property manager, giving her a unique insight into leasing and marketing in St. Louis. 

Helena earned her undergraduate degree from DeVry University, specializing in Multimedia Design and Development. Utilizing the planning and implementation processes learned during her degree program she develops specialized marketing and leasing plans throughout the portfolio.

Alisa Hill

Operations Manager

Alisa has over 10 years of experience in the multi-family housing industry with market rate, tax credit, and public housing communities.  She began her career as a leasing consultant and was quickly promoted to assistant manager and then property manager. Alisa previously held the position of floating property manager and trainer for new assistant managers and property managers with The Lipton Group. Alisa earned her Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) and Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor (CAPS) designations from the National Apartment Association, as well as her Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP) designation.

Randy Lipton



In January 1994, Randy Lipton formed The Lipton Group as successor to Lipton Realty, Inc. to handle the management of the families’ portfolio of residential and commercial properties, along with  selective third party properties.  Throughout his career, Randy has been involved in every aspect of the real estate business, from acquisition,  development, financing and rehabilitation to disposition.  His management approach for every property in the portfolio is to understand the owner’s objectives and then use the knowledge of his entire team to achieve these goals through creative repositioning, recommending added value scenarios or other tools to maximize the return to the owner.  Randy graduated from Arizona State University with a B.A. in  finance and general business.  He is a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) and a member of the Real Estate Board of Metropolitan St. Louis.  Randy has served on the Boards and Committees of various charitable and non-profit organizations throughout the region.
